March home sales picked up a bit in Palm Beach and Martin counties,
while prices continued to fall, two reports say.
A market report from Illustrated Properties Real Estate shows
1,181 sales of single-family homes and condos in Palm Beach County
in March. That’s up from 923 sales in February but down from
1,539 sales in March 2007.
The median price of homes and condos sold in Palm Beach County
fell to $225,000 from $295,000 a year ago.
Meanwhile, Martin County single-family sales rose to 156 this
March from 132 in March 2007, while the median price plunged to
$225,500 from $322,500, according to the Realtor Association of
Martin County.
Martin County condo sales fell a bit to 41 this March from 52
last March, and condo prices plunged to $150,000 this year from
$232,000 last year.
The March numbers will be sliced and diced a bit differently when
the Florida Association of Realtors releases its monthly report
April 22.
