GENERAL INFORMATION
Palm Beach County is blessed with 47 miles of white sandy beaches along Florida's "Gold
Coast". So named for the gold salvaged from shipwrecks just off shore, the deep blue waters
of the Atlantic Ocean are constantly being refreshed by the Gulf Stream which creates some
of the best sport fishing and scuba diving in the world. Anglers flock to Palm Beach year
round to fish for dolphin, wahoo, king, and sailfish. Scuba divers enjoy a varied selection of
dive sites the length of the county. Most dives range from 30 to 80 feet and sightings of
Loggerhead and Hawksbill turtles are common, especially during nesting season which runs
from May through August.
For the freshwater fishing enthusiast, Lake Okeechobee offers some of the best bass fishing
in the state.
For those of you who prefer dry land, Palm Beach is home to the Professional Golfers
